Charitable Donation Tax Receipts now available when you donate to Nomads Rugby
Nomads Rugby is pleased to announce that supporters can donate to the Club and receive Charitable Donation Tax Receipts for qualifying donations of $20 or greater.
Announcing the development Nomads President, Ross Pinkerton commented “As Around 50% of the Club’s operating Expenditure is covered by sponsorships and donations, it is important the Club provides its members and supporters with the options they need to optimize their giving”.
To enable Nomads’ donors to receive charitable donation tax receipts, Nomads Rugby has partnered with Sport4Ontario, the Ontario branch of The National Sports Trust Fund, a registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association (RCAAA). As a RCAAA the National Sport Trust Fund is able to issue an official tax receipt for all qualifying donations of $20 or greater.
To launch this initiative Nomads has established 2 separate funds:
- The No Player Left Behind Fund, the purpose of which is to enable players who could not otherwise afford it to play Nomads rugby.
- The Rugby Operations Fund, the purpose of which is to contribute to the cost of rugby operations including programs, facilities, equipment, coaching and administration costs.
We appreciate there are many supporters of Nomads Rugby who wish to support the club. Accordingly we have set stretch annual targets for these funds of $30,000 and $25,000 respectively. We look forward with anticipation to the Nomads’ community’s response.
Donors choose which fund to contribute to. If a donor wishes to contribute to both, two separate donations need to be made and two tax receipts will be issued.
Please note Sport4Ontario charges approximately 4% to use its service so the net donation received by the Club will be slightly less than the total donation.

Donations direct to the Club – Charitable Donation Tax Receipt not required.Members and supporters who do not require a Charitable Donation Tax Receipt, may donate directly to the Club by cheque (payable to “Toronto Nomads Rugby Club”), etransfer to treasurer@torontonomads.comor wire transfer. (email treasurer@torontonomads.comfor wire transfer instructions). Direct donations avoid the approx. 4% fee charged by Sport4Ontario. Direct to Club donors may specify their donation be applied to a preferred Fund, event or other purpose.
