After a successful first season back in the OWL, the Nomads ladies finished last year third in the west. They are returning to play in Ontario’s premier women’s competition with a new coach (imported from New Zealand, of course) and an insatiable hunger for Ws. They plan to run two teams, a high performance squad, as well as a development team.
The men faced a challenging 2018 season, but finished with a series of wins that proved they had what it takes to play with some of the province’s top teams. This year the Nomads men will compete in the Marshall League, the new premier division in Ontario. This will be the first time in many years that the Nomad men have competed at such a high level. In fact, the last time the Nomads won the Carlin Cup (the highest award in Ontario Men’s Rugby at that time) it was 1976! Back then, a try was worth four points, and stores were closed on Sundays.]]>
