Host Team Plays Amazingly at Canada 7s Delivering Shut Outs Galore

The Canadians had an epic first day at Canada 7s, opening the tournament with three shut outs. The Canucks entered the competition sitting third in the overall World Series standings. The tournament opened with an easy 38-0 win over Japan before comfortably dispatching Ireland 26-0. In what was their most challenging match-up of the day one, Canada beat England 5-0.
Day two saw a heart breaking two-point loss to France. A last gasp try and conversion from the French edged out the host nation 14-12. The women quickly redeemed their winning streak, shutting Russia out 27-0. Canada goes on to face Spain tonight in a fight for the plate.
Some Oldmads trekked out west to support Nomad Kelly Russell who scored more than her fair share of tries over the two-day tournament.
UPDATE: The women took home the plate, handily beating Spain 21-5. Throughout the tournament, Canada went 5-1, conceding just 17 points! Bring on Rio!]]>
